Using GenAI to speculate future experiences

Discover how to use Generative AI to identify current trends, build future scenarios and speculate future experiences. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about prompt crafting with ChatGPT and experience a workflow that uses AI to make detailed experiences of imagined futures. For experience designers and experience researchers, this workshop offers a Generative AI (GenAI) -augmented design workflow to anticipate user needs and emotions in future environments. These immersive future narratives will help participants pitch their experience design more effectively.

Collaborating with ChatGPT allows participants to quickly gain insights into future experiences and the intricacies with using and integrating GenAI into their design workflow. Participants will also enhance their ability to communicate complex future scenarios effectively, ensuring future-oriented informed decision-making. By honing these skills, participants can navigate the emerging GenAI landscape with confidence and intention, to enhance their experience design practises. Through practical sessions, participants learn 1) futuristic collaboration with GenAI, 2) empathy in speculated futures, 3) divergent insights through transdisciplinary signals insights, 4) sequencing imagined experiences through signal consequences, 5) future scenario crafting, and 6) narrative weaving.
